Psalm 15 (ESV)

O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent?
Who shall dwell on your holy hill?

He who walks blamelessly and does what is right
and speaks truth in his heart;
who does not slander with his tongue
and does no evil to his neighbor,
nor takes up a reproach against his friend;
in whose eyes a vile person is despised,
but who honors those who fear the Lord;
who swears to his own hurt and does not change;
who does not put out his money at interest
and does not take a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things shall never be moved.

REFLECTION:

  1. David presented a question: Who can come before God? It’s those who “walk straight, act right, tell the truth” (v2).
  2. David described the life that lives in the presence of God; who walks in close fellowship with God because the heart, the mind, and the life are all in step with the heart, mind, and life of God.
  3. Read over the psalm and use it as a good checklist against which to measure yourself. Any reminder? Any areas that need correction?
  4. Celebrate with the last verse: “He who does these things shall never be moved”. Thank God for such a promise! And ask God to help you “walk” closely with Him.

PRAYER:

Stay with God for a little longer.  Continue to converse with God and listen to what He wants to tell you.  Then write down any thought and/or prayer in your spiritual journal.
