“The Power of Encouragement”

Paul tells us to encourage one another, to strengthen their faith We live in a fallen world, filled with discouragements.

Encouragement is not the same thing as feedback, it has a different purpose!

Discussion Questions:

• What is the difference between encouragement and telling people what they can do better?
• Why is Paul so insistent on us encouraging one another?
• Where in your life could you use some encouragement?
• Describe a time when you were encouraged by someone.
• How did it happen, how did you feel before and afterwards?
• How can you encourage people around you?

News & Events:

• Townhall Meeting for Staggered-time Sunday Service will be held on 9/3, 11:30 at PCA Big Gym. Strongly encourage brothers and sisters to reserve the date and attend the meeting for enquiries and better understanding the schedule and arrangements of different congregations.
• It is with heavy hearts to announce that Sister Aline Xiu Lin Fang of Carmel (grandma of Brother Steven Phu) passed away on 8/14. The Funeral Service had taken place yesterday at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home.  Please pray for God’s comfort and peace to the family.
• PCA Sports Night on 8/23 will be cancelled, but will take place for the last time on 8/30 instead. From 9/20 every Wednesday, it will take place at All Saints Catholic Elementary School (130 Castlemore Ave, Markham) with badminton at 18:00—20:00 and basketball at 20:15—22:15.
• Starting from this month, PGC will provide audio recording of Sunday sermons on PGC Worship webpage for listening again.
• PGC Building Committee is recruitment new members for both the Operation Team and the Development Team. We are looking for people with experience in administration, property management, architecture, building and land development etc.  If you are interested in joining, please contact the current Building Committee members: Roymond, Patrick, Mabel or Pastor Ken.

• Welcome your opinions/suggestions that help improve further on Sunday Service, Sunday School and different ministries.  Drop them into our English Offering/Suggestion Box at back of PCA Small Gym.  Our pastoral staff and church leaders will review and follow up where appropriate.  Look forward to hearing from you. 

Prayer & Praise Items

• Pray for 3-hour staggered Sunday Services launching on 9/24. May God grant us a united heart to prepare for the adaption to this new schedule.
• Praise God for the successful completion of the Summer Camp. Pray to God for continue blessing great bonding and spiritual growth for all serving youths.
• Pray for the baptism on 9/17. May God strengthen the hearts of all candidates.
• Pray for Missionary Misa’s father, whose health is in critical condition. May God save him and have mercy on Misa’s family.
