“Forgiveness”

Sermon Notes:

• Forgiveness isn’t justifying, or explaining what we did, but submitting to God.
• Forgiveness is an act of mercy by God, one we do not deserve.
• Forgiveness isn’t only taking away our sin, but renewing our heart.

Discussion Questions:

1. Describe a time you needed forgiveness from someone
2. How did you approach them/ask for forgiveness.
3. Did they forgive you?
4. How did you feel asking for forgiveness?
5. What fears/emotions did you have ahead of time?
6. Describe a time you needed to forgive someone else
7. What did they do differently than you did in the earlier example
8. Did you forgive them?
9. Is it different asking God for forgiveness than other people?
10. Describe the major differences.
11. What is your experience after being forgiven, how do you feel different?

News & Events:

• PGC is facing spiritual battle these days.  Church Leaders sincerely invite brother and sisters to revive the prayer campaign with use of PGC’s latest Prayer Card (https://peoplesgospelchurch.org/files/2023prayercard.pdf).  We encourage congregants to pray together regularly and participate in PGC’s monthly prayer meeting (usually on the 4th Sunday).
• CrossRoads will have gatherings once a month during summer. The upcoming one will be on 7/21 (Fri) for Jr High (Gr 6-8) and 7/22 (Sat) for High School (Gr 9-12).  Please stay turned for further updates when available.
• PGC Baptism will take place on 9/17 (Sun) . Deadline to submit application is 7/30, which is only 3 weeks away.  Please submit your completed form to Cell leader or Zone Pastor asap, or contact them for enquiries.  Please keep eligible candidates in prayers and encourage them to consider getting baptized this year.
• Summer Camp registration remains open. Sincerely invite brothers and sisters to join and serve in the ministry: 1. For love and encouragement, prepare and deliver snacks and fruits every Monday & Wednesday during camp period of 7/17-8/4; 2. Be Prayer Warrior and commit to pray for the youth/children during camp day mornings.  Please contact Pastor Connie Liu or Katherine for details.
• Cordially invite families, with children up to Gr 2, to join IGC Zone Summer Outings below and have fun together. Stay tuned for activities in August.

  - bring along swim attires, beach toys & equipment, and prepare your own lunch with drinks

  - basketball, soccer, volleyball, frisbee, etc. Bring your food & enjoy outdoor gathering together
• We welcome your opinions and suggestions that help us improve further on Sunday Service, Sunday School and different ministries.  Drop them into our PGC Drop Box (for Offering & Opinions Collection) at PCA Big Gym.  Our pastoral staff and church leaders will review and follow up where appropriate.  Look forward to hearing from you.

Prayer & Praise Items:

• Pray for the launch of staggered Sunday Services starting Sep/24. May God grant us a united heart on all preparation and coordination works, and use the venue of PCA efficiently for better development of PGC’s different ministries.
• Pray for summer camp led by Pansy with the youth team. May God bless great bonding and spiritual growth for all youths and a loving & joyful camp for all kids.
• Pray for Missionary Misa’s father, whose health is in critical condition. May God save him with appropriate treatments, and grant him comfort in mind and body.
