“Promises Made, Promises Kept”

CHAIRMAN   :  JOHNATHAN TANG
SPEAKER      :  PASTOR IAIN DAVIS
SCRIPTURES :  luke 19:28-48

Sermon Notes:

What does Jesus’ entry to Jerusalem say about him:

  • He defies expectations about who the Messiah is
  • He is faithful to God’s word
  • He cares for the lost, the sinner, those in need, but also the proper worship of God.

Discussion questions

  1. The Jews had an idea of what the messiah would be like. Before becoming a Christian, what assumptions did you have about what Jesus was like?
  2. What does Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem tell you about who he is?
  3. Why did Jesus see fit to use violence in the Temple?
  4. Do you think this was the right thing to do? Does this allow us to use violence in the right circumstance?

  • The Cross-congregation Vision Sharing & Prayer Meeting held last Sunday allowed Ministry leaders with attended brothers and sisters to discuss on several 3-hour Sunday Service models, that would help a healthy growth in all congregations and match with PGC’s developmental vision in PCA’s venue capacity. For those who didn’t make it to join the meeting, please click the following weblink about the proposed models and related details.  The launch date of the recommended model of Sunday service is to be discussed and confirmed.  Please contact your respective pastors or Ministry Committee for concerns and enquiries.  May God continue to bless the future of PGC, especially for the spiritual nurturing of our younger generations.  May we retain a united heart in God:  Worship together, Change together and Grow together!
