Scripture Reading: Ephesians 6:10-17

Key Bible Verse: Ephesians 6:10-11, 17

¹⁰Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

¹¹Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.

¹⁷Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

1. Helmet of Salvation
   
   (a) Why is the helmet an essential armour?
   - The deadliest wounds that the enemy can inflict are on the head,
   so we need to protect it with the helmet

   (b) What is the helmet of salvation?
   - The head of a believer means his mind and thought
   which is the battle field of a spiritual warfare.
   
   (c) Why do we need the helmet of salvation?
   - Satan always wants to convince us that we do not belong to Christ ________________
   and wants to rob us of our joy and confidence in Christ.

*** We will never lose our salvation in Christ. Jesus’ blood has already covered our sins
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness”. (1 John 1:9)

1. Sword of the Spirit
   
   (a) What is the sword of the Spirit?
   - The sword of the Spirit means the Word of God
   - The word of God is a powerful weapon that can be used defensively and offensively
   “For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword” (Heb 4:12 )

   (b) Why do we need the sword of the Spirit?
   - We use the word of God to fight against the devil and have spiritual growth in Christ.
   
   (c) Jesus used God’s word to fight against the devil:
   - Jesus said “It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that
   comes from the mouth of God'” (Matthew 4:4)
   - Jesus said “It is written: “Do not put the Lord your God to the test”'(Matthew 4:7)
   - Jesus said “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God,
   and serve him only'”(Mathew 4:10)
   
   (d) How do we use the sword of the Spirit?
   - Read it, study it, meditate on it, fill our heart and mind with it
   - Practice it regularly to acquaint ourselves with the weapon
