“Who is suitable for the Kingdom of God?”

CHAIRMAN    :  Alec cheng
SPEAKER      :  PASTOR IAIN DAVIS
SCRIPTURES :  luke 18:9-30

Sermon Notes:

  • Who is fit to be a part of the Kingdom of God?
  • Status, wealth and our own actions cannot earn us a place in God’s Kingdom
  • Humble people, and children are lifted up as examples to remind us of where salvation comes from: Christ!

Discussion Questions:

  1. Who is Jesus speaking to in each of these passages and where are they having this conversation/teaching? Why do either of these things matter as we read Scripture?
  2. Luke 18:15-30 can be compared to Matthew 19:13-30. What differences do you notice? What may Luke be trying to emphasize that Matthew is not and why?
  3. What is one application that you see from Luke 18:9-30? Why might that application be difficult for someone to do?
