• The disciples wanted to prove their loyalty to God but instead were rebuked by his Son.
• What is greater than our loyalty to family, to country, is our devotion to the kingdom of God.

News & Events:

• The first 2022 PGC Executive Board Meeting will take place this afternoon. Please pray for God’s direction and guidance on different church ministries and matters.
• Summer Camp (In-Person) 2022 needs our prayers together. We will apply for Canada Summer Job's funding by Jan 25th and will start hiring a Camp Supervisor as well as looking for a suitable site. May Lord Jesus stir up our youth's vision, passion and lead our team to serve according to His best will.
• It will be PGC Joint Online Mission Sunday Service on Jan/30. The 2 missionaries newly supported by PGC, Aaron Mok and Cindy Lai, will share their response to God’s calling. Zoom details will be available next week.
• Two Christian courses for G7-12 youths are available for those interested in learning more about the bible. Both courses are offered on first come first serve basis. The 2 courses will start from Jan/23.

• PGC will continue to distribute Holy Communion kits up to 4 prefilled HC packages. Please send request to your cell leader and arrange visit or pick-up. Brothers and sisters not belonging to any cell group could send request to admin@pgcmail.org.
• PGC Cantonese congregation will start a new course on “Discipleship from the Book of Matthew 2022” from February with Dr Clement Yeung as the speaker. Please refer to the Chinese bulletin for details.
• Due to the impact of the new COVID variant, the plan to begin in-person Sunday services at SilverCity Cineplex is now postponed. We will continue to monitor the pandemic situation and liaise with SilverCity.
  Please keep this development of in-person worship services in prayers.

Prayer Items:

• Pray for God’s sovereignty over the rapid spread of Omicron in Canada and worldwide, and vaccinations could be made available and accessible to those in need.
• Bill C-4 has recently been passed to become law, which brings about concerns on teaching of biblical understanding of sexuality. Pray for God’s wisdom and mercy as parents, pastors and counsellors in face of this challenge.
• Pray that PGC leaders will seek God’s love and wisdom to resolve conflicts, handle misunderstanding and pacify emotions of brothers and sisters based on biblical teaching to maintain unity in God’s kingdom.

Praise Item:

• Praise God that 2 missionaries, Aaron Mok and Cindy Lai, had faithfully responded to His calling, and PGC will be supporting their mission to Cambodia in 2022. Pray that God will provide for their fundraising need, and He will protect them and their family for going abroad. May God grant them love, wisdom and courage to spread the gospel to non-believers there.
