CHAIRMAN: JOHNATHAN TANG
SPEAKER: REV C Y YAN
SCRIPTURES: ESTHER 4:14

14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

Discussion questions:

  1. Share one experience where you found yourself “too Asian to be Canadian, and too Canadian to be Asian”
  2. Did you find your identity as a “Third Culture” person helpful?  Why or why not?
  3. How can God use you as a world changer and a history maker?

News & Events:

  • Both PGC Membership Meeting and 2025 Joint Child Dedication Service will take place on 11/30.  Cantonese Sunday School, English Post-service Program, Nursery & PGCKIDS Ministries will be suspended for a week.  Please see details below:

(b) PGC Joint Child Dedication Service (11:15-12:30) @ PCA Big Gym

We’re excited to invite families to participate in this upcoming church-wide Child Dedication Service.  This special time allows parents to express gratitude to God and commit to raising their children in His ways.  As a spiritual family in Christ, our whole church will join in offering support, prayer, and blessings to these
families.  If you have children (up to 12 yrs old) and feel led to dedicate them this year, we encourage you to prayerfully consider this meaningful step.  Please reach out to Pastor Connie or Lucia as soon as possible to express your interest.  To ensure smooth planning, all required materials must be submitted by 11/2 (today).

  • English Faith Foundation Course (Part 2) will take place today 11:15—12:30 at PCA Cafetorium. Mandatory for those currently serving or will serve in near future.  Welcome all Gr 6 to adults, Christians or non-Christian, to sit in.
  • Pastor Andy will be on family vacation from 11/1-6. Pastor Connie and Lucia will also be away from 11/1-8.  Please contact Pastor Iain/EMC members for English ministry needs, or Children Committee members about children ministry.
  • We encourage brothers and sisters who are PGC members to take part in appropriate ministry roles in our spiritual home serving one another. Many ministries require manpower support to allow better operation and healthier development with growth, namely AV, Welcome Team, Post-service programs, Youth Ministry and more.  We sincerely invite you to join serving in this spiritual home together.  Please contact Pastor Iain, Pastor Andy or Lucia if interested.
  • Like last Christmas English continues to encourage cell groups to participate in the Gibson Centre Christmas Hamper Program this year The Gibson Centre Food bank every year helps needy families in our community, especially during Christmas time. Cell groups are invited to participate either in giving financially to Gibson Centre so they can purchase the hampers, or to put one together as a cell group.  Financial commitments to sponsor a family would be approx. a family of 4 is $180-$210, a family of 6 is $270-$300.  If you or your cell group would be interested in participating, please let Pastor Iain know asap for sharing more details and notifying Gibson.  Hampers are due by Saturday Dec/6.
  • As one of the celebrative events for PGC 20th Anniversary, a church-wide retreat will be organized during the Victoria Day long weekend on May 16-18, 2026 (Sat-Mon) at Trent University (Peterborough). Rev Peter Au (區應毓牧師/博士)  will be one of the guest speakers sharing at the Retreat.  Please reserve your dates to join this meaningful retreat and sincerely invite you to take part in the Retreat Committee and various working groups to be formed soon for organizing the event.  Stay tuned on any updates to be announced in due course.
  • To encourage intergenerational worship, the soft launch to welcome all children joining English worship singing time together from 9:30-9:50 AM will extended to November. All parents please sign in children at PGCKIDS table starting from 09:15, then accompany your children to proceed into the NEST and worship together.  Children staff will be present to sit with children whose parents may not be able to join English worship.
