Sermon outline:

  • There is a difference between appearing to be Righteous, and being Righteous
  • Be Christian is not about following new rules, it is about following Jesus
  • Faith is all we need because of what Jesus accomplished on the cross

 

 


News & Events:

 

  • September is the Mission Month for PGC. A team from Compassion Canada will come and hold an open house for us on 9/22, introducing their mission and vision, as well as an overview of their global operations. They will have a Guest Speaker preaching at our English Service.  A room will be set up where their staff will meet us and introduce their operation with slide presentation.   PGC congregation will also be offered experience presentations with their Virtual Reality (VR) equipment in different sessions:
    • Cantonese - 9:30am - 10:45am (No Sunday School that day)
    • Children (Gr. 4-5) - 10:45am- 11:15am
    • English - 11:15am - 12:30pm

Due to limited availability of VR equipment, prior registration is required for participation.  Please sign up by the QR code.

  • Discussion Group and Gr 6-8 Sunday School will take place today 11:15-12:30 at Cafetorium & 308 respectively. Please join where appropriate.  High School (HS) girls will have regular monthly gathering 1st Sunday during the same period of time starting in Oct.  Please stay tuned with updates from Mina/Wendy.
  • High School (HS) Boys will resume bi-weekly meeting beginning 9/11 (next Wed) 6:30-8:30pm at PCA Cafetorium. All Gr 9-12 HS boys are welcome to join.  If you’re interested, please contact Pastor Andy (crossroads@pgcmail.org).
  • PGC Sports Night will resume starting 9/11 every Wednesday. Location will now be PCA with badminton 6:30-8:30pm at Big Gym and basketball 8:00-10:00pm at Small Gym.  Welcome to invite relatives and friends to come play together.  Please contact Hingstone Calvin or Pastor Iain for further enquiries.
  • PGC Cantonese Men’s Conference will take place on 9/21 (Sat) 9am-3pm at the Meadows of Aurora (440 William Graham Dr) with Dr Clemen Yeung (楊世禮醫生) as the guest speaker.   • Thank God for moving brothers and sisters with love. Through Compassion Canada, PGC supports more than 30 children in the Dominican Republic (DR). We have planned a “Compassion Experience Tour” from Oct/8-15, where participants can enjoy travelling and also learn about Compassion DR’s works and visit the children we sponsor. Prayer & Praise Items:

  • Pray for God’s sovereignty and mercy over the world now in political instability.
  • Pray for the 16 brothers and sisters recently got baptized. May God continue to strengthen their faith to follow Jesus Christ.
  • Praise God for the successful completion of summer camp this year. May God establish godly friendships among the youth team for His glory.
  • Pray for Pastor Andy’s grandfather who was admitted to hospital after suffering from a fall last Thursday.
  • Pray for Missionary Cindy Lai to get full recovery from recent dengue fever. Pray also for all missionaries supported by PGC that God will keep them safe with good health, and strengthen their ministries in sharing gospel.
